INPA is At the Crossroads of Energy and Innovation

Championing pro-nuclear policy for Indiana’s energy independence and growth.

“Indiana is leading the nation in the next chapter of American energy independence”

-Governor Mike Braun

INPA Policy Framework

  • Energy Reliability & Nuclear Deployment.

Indiana’s future depends on a stable, affordable, and carbon-free energy mix. INPA supports the modernization of Indiana’s grid and integration of advanced nuclear technologies, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and microreactors, to ensure round-the-clock reliability and resilience for homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure.

    Core Priorities

Support Indiana Code reforms allowing commercial deployment of SMRs.

Encourage MISO and PJM recognition of nuclear baseload as reliability assets.

Promote hybrid nuclear-renewable systems for industrial and municipal power needs.

  • Economic Growth & Workforce Development.

Nuclear power means high-wage, high-skill jobs for Hoosiers. INPA advances initiatives that position Indiana as a national leader in nuclear manufacturing, component supply chains, and skilled workforce training through public-private partnerships with universities, trade schools, and unions.

    Core Priorities

Establish workforce pipelines for reactor operations, maintenance, and nuclear engineering.

Incentivize manufacturers to participate in nuclear component production.

Partner with regional development authorities to repurpose industrial sites for advanced energy use.

  • Environmental Stewardship & Clean Energy Leadership.

Nuclear energy is essential to meeting climate and clean-air goals without sacrificing reliability. INPA promotes transparent, science-based environmental standards that recognize nuclear’s unique ability to deliver consistent, carbon-free baseload power.

    Core Priorities

Integrate nuclear energy into Indiana’s clean-energy portfolio standards.

Support advanced fuel recycling and waste-minimization research.

Advocate for permitting reform that expedites clean energy infrastructure.

  • Policy, Regulation & Public Engagement

INPA works with policymakers, regulators, and communities to ensure Indiana’s legal framework supports safe, responsible nuclear growth. Public understanding and trust are essential; our approach emphasizes transparency, education, and collaboration.

    Core Priorities

Streamline state licensing and siting processes for advanced reactors.

Align Indiana policy with evolving federal DOE and NRC initiatives.

Expand public outreach through educational campaigns and community partnerships.
